JULY 2011

Brethren,

June was a busy month, but still not as busy as May. I had two free weekends and four weekdays where I had nothing to do! Boy when I had my regular job, it was never that busy. I am enjoying the fellowship with Brothers from other Lodge and Bodies.

During the month of June we had two excellent First Degree proficiencies, (Brothers Grant Ealy and Ray Blades,) and one very excellent Third degree proficiencies (by Brother Greg Smith). Brothers Blades and Ealy also had their Second Degree on the 27th of June.

We had a very good turn out for our Stated Meeting. Let’s see if we can keep it up! For the Ladies there will be another Traveling Bingo. I understand, those Ladies who remained for the Bingo had a very good time.

On the 4th of July during the Constitution Observance there will be a presentation, called the Building of the Flag. It is a very informative presentation. The Guys who are putting it on, are Masons belonging to the National Sojourners and Heroes of 76. They will be coming from Orange and Riverside Counties. So come out and show these guys how much you appreciate their hard work!

JULY 2011

Brethren and Masonic Family members,

Have you been to the Lodge lately? I was there tonight and noticed that a beautiful piece of work has been completed in the foyer of the Lodge. The old lectern has been replaced by a finely finished oak piece that is attached to the wall as you enter the Lodge Room. Come out and see it.

Another nice thing that’s happening in lodge is that our attendance is up. Up 100% in fact. It used to be that we would have 17 or so brothers there. Last meeting we had 35!

It seems that month after month I have to report that there are still a few of you that have yet to pay your dues. That few of you this year are 24 Brothers. Per Masonic Code, the Lodge owes a Per-Capita of $33.00 for every brother on it’s rolls. For those of you who have yet to pay your dues, it will cost the lodge $732.00 on your behalf. I’ve mailed out delinquent dues notices so you should know who you are.

Please don’t make the lodge bear this burden. All you need to do is give me a call and we can talk about your situation. One of the things I hate most is bugging people for money. So if your in arrears, and would like to talk to me about your situation, please give me a call.

Hesperian Lodge is very fortunate to have a Board that works so hard o do all the right things to keep our property and building in perfect shape. A special thank you to Bruce and Gina. They are always on top of everything . We do have some issues that are being looked into. A new water softener and parking lot repairs. The good news is the kitchen is now certified by the Health Department, thanks to Bruce Ed and Dick.
